Florida REALTORS (Florida REALTORS®, 2023), reported that in January, Florida consumer sentiment rose by 1.4 points to reach 65.4, surpassing December's adjusted value of 64. In contrast, the national level saw a rise of more than five points, while yesterday, the Conference Board stated that there was a minor decline in overall American optimism. Hector Sandoval, the director of UF's Bureau of Economic and Business Research's Economic Analysis Program, mentioned that the boost in consumer sentiment in January was due to Floridians' enhanced outlooks for the future, especially for a year from now. Sandoval attributed these views to a falling inflation outlook that has been decreasing steadily from 9.1% in June to 6.5% in December, with an expected continued decline in the next few months to prevent households from enduring further difficulties.
